One of the realizations we had while caring for the children was the crucial relationship between nutrition and brain development. When we initially brought in children who were begging on the streets and tried to teach them, they showed signs of learning disabilities, such as struggling to concentrate, falling asleep during class, or behaving poorly towards teachers. At first, we thought there might be mental health issues. However, as we consistently provided three meals a day over the years, the expressions of the children began to change. Children who couldn’t smile started smiling, and they began showing interest in their studies. Through regular meals, the brains of these children, who felt loved, became active, and those who previously had learning disabilities started achieving excellent grades in high school. Witnessing such transformations, I have come to realize that there is no ministry as important as providing food, love, and the gospel together to children. Thanks to the Global Children’s Foundation, 91 children continue to eat well and live healthily today.
