North AmericaThe city of Mirebalais, where the Partners In Health Hospital (founded by Dr. Paul Farmer) was located, has been overtaken by armed gangs, forcing the closure of a hospital that once saved countless lives in Haiti. Currently, it is estimated that around 680,000 children live under constant threat from gang violence. Many of them struggle to find even one meal a day, and attending school has become nearly impossible. Despite these challenges, the Delmas 75 area—where the Agape children’s dormitory and school are located—remains safe and free from gang control. The school continues to operate normally, and the children are well protected. The 50 boys and 30 girls at Agape, who receive three meals a day, are thriving academically. At Fortress Christian School, which has about 750 students, our Agape children consistently rank at the top of their classes, often taking first and second place in their grades. The teachers and staff at the school frequently express admiration for the exemplary behavior and outstanding academic performance of our children. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our supporters for their continued love, prayers, and generosity.
