South AsiaThe School Feeding Programme supported by Global Children Foundation (GCF),USA is being continued at the Paschim Dwarikapur Island of Sunderban, India for the underpriviledged children.
Nearly 100 Primary School children of Paschim Dwarikapur Island – mostly from the fishermen, farmers and landless labourers families avail of this Mid Day Meals – for 5 days a week. Along with their Primary Education and moral / spiritual nourishment, this feeding programme helps them to come out from the danger of hunger and malnutrition. Many children of our schools come from extreme poor families – who are deprived of food at their home – due to very low family income. This mid day meal is vital for their survival and nourishment.
We provide basic food – Rice, Dal (Lentil), vegetables and fish or eggs in the meals. These are freshly cooked and served hot to the children. The teachers take keen interest and serve them with love and prayer.
The smile in the children’s face and end of hunger, malnourishment are the impact of the mid day meal programme.
