South AsiaIn October 2021, Global Children Foundation generously gave FOREFRONT Charity a grant of $10,000 to use towards student meals at FOREFRONT School in rural Kolluru, Andhra Pradesh, India. About a third of all children in India face extreme hunger and poverty. The issue of child hunger is even more dire in the communities surrounding FOREFRONT School where 38% of people have ancestry stemming from the lowest caste. With Global Children Foundation’s support, we are delighted to provide high-quality, healthy, and fresh school meals to all students at FOREFRONT School. Hungry students cannot focus on learning, so free school lunch is essential for our students to grow in health, academics, and character. In India, the school year ends in April, so we will construct our school kitchen and provide free, school-made lunches to the 120 students at FOREFRONT School starting next school year, which begins in July 2022. In the meantime, we have taught our students about healthy eating and provided free, healthy lunch through local meal vendors. Furthermore, we have engaged with the local community through nine diabetes diagnosis and healthy eating workshops, which have had 525 attendees in total. We are so grateful for Global Children Foundation’s generosity and hope for your continued support of FOREFRONT School for years to come.
