North AmericaHaiti is currently in extreme chaos. After the assassination of the president earlier last year, Haiti has been ruled by a government that has had no legal basis. Diesel and gasoline have not been supplied for over a month, and gangs have taken over the port.
In addition, Haiti depends on imported rice for 80% of its food. Due to closed ports, food shortages have worsened. More than 50% of the population is suffering from food shortages, especially children under the age of 5 are suffering from severe malnutrition .
In this current situation, the support of GCF is imminent and important to us. We started taking care of children begging on the street over the past 9 years, we have helped them grow and most children are still studying hard in school. Most of these children are abandoned because their parents do not have the financial ability to survive.
It is important to the ministry to provide these children with a safe place to sleep, three meals a day, and hospital care when they are ill. I would like to express sincere gratitude for GCF who helped us to do this precious mission.
