AfricaWe would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the Global Children Foundation for your precious support for the children of Congo. The funds generously provided by your foundation have been distributed among three schools affiliated with our organization, the Mission Évangélique Amour du Congo (MEAC). Through this support, more than 720 children have received school supplies, and we are able to provide them with two to three nutritious meals each week. Most children in Congo eat only one meal a day, and to ease their hunger, they often pick wild fruits or eat simple homemade snacks. However, the children in our MEAC schools now bring their own plates or bowls in their school bags every Tuesday and Friday to enjoy a warm meal. Although the meals are simple—usually consisting of rice and soup made with beans or vegetables—they bring great joy and satisfaction to children who are often hungry. At the Kinkole Mission Primary and Secondary School, which operates its own bakery, the students receive baguette bread three times a week. This program has led to a remarkable change—there are no more absences among the students, the school’s reputation has grown, and it has now become well-known in the community as a good school. As a result, this year’s enrollment for all grades was completed earlier than ever before. We once again thank Global Children Foundation for your loving and life-giving support that brings hope and nourishment to the children of Congo.
