Southeast AsiaThis year, the El Niño phenomenon has brought extreme heat and drought across Southeast Asia. Here in Cambodia, rice fields have cracked, lakes have dried up, and even the trees are withering under these harsh conditions. At school, each classroom runs three fans to provide some relief from the heat, but watching teachers and students drenched in sweat makes us wish we could do more to improve their environment. Despite these challenges, we are grateful to see students enjoying their lunch breaks. A particularly proud moment came last year when all of our high school graduates passed their final exams, earning our school recognition as one of the top schools in the region. Additionally, the students recently achieved great results in a local soccer tournament, highlighting their hard work and growth. Even in these difficult circumstances, it brings immense happiness to see the students thriving and sharing positive news. I firmly believe that all of this has been made possible through the generous support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF).
