Since 2004, our religious community has operated the St. Francisco Mission House, a center for children and youth, serving those living in urban poor communities who are exposed to poverty, drugs, and sexual risks. We provide free meals—one nutritious lunch, five days a week—to children and youth from ages 4 (kindergarten) to 17 (high school), helping prevent diseases caused by malnutrition. We also support their education and emotional well-being so they may grow physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy. In addition, we continue to distribute packed lunches to 500 high school students in the Silang–Cavite region.  Thanks to the generous support of Global Children Foundation, we were able to provide warm, nutritious meals to 60 children again this year. One visually impaired mother touched her child and rejoiced, saying that the child had gained weight. Children who used to be weak—often suffering from colds, fever, dizziness, severe skin infections, or lice—are now gradually regaining their health.  Moreover, when typhoons and heavy rains flooded the area, we purchased rice and essential food supplies and delivered them to affected households, which greatly helped them recover from the disaster.  We sincerely thank you for enabling hope to bloom where there was once only despair.
