Mexicali is located in northern Mexico, in a desert region where summer temperatures often rise above 122°F (50°C).  Some children are unable to attend school because they need to work to help support their families.  Thanks to the financial support from GCF, we have been able to provide free meals once a week, offering the children a moment of nourishment and joy. We also organize weekend school programs and literacy classes, which are currently held in four different locations across Mexicali.  Each month, the number of children participating in these weekend schools continues to grow, showing their eagerness to learn and belong to a caring community.  The results have been truly inspiring.  The children have learned the Lord’s Prayer by heart, and those who once couldn’t read or write are now able to do so.  They have become close friends, learning values of love, respect, and community life.  Their enthusiasm has even inspired many parents to start attending church.  We are deeply grateful to GCF for their ongoing support, which continues to bring hope, faith, and transformation to the lives of children and families in Mexicali.
