Malawi_Jeonghwan Ahn 2025

With the support provided by GCF, we were able to go beyond offering temporary meals to about 200 students at Jalira Secondary School and began a poultry farming project by constructing a chicken coop.  To continuously improve the diet and nutritional quality of children in Malawi—where food sources are often limited—we built the poultry farm, hired staff to manage it, provided them with professional training, and started raising 500 chicks. After six months of care, we have finally begun supplying eggs.  Currently, about 250 eggs are produced each day, and as production increases, we plan to sell the surplus in local markets. The income from these sales will be used to purchase additional food ingredients for the school meals.  We are also preparing to build a small-scale slaughtering facility to provide chicken meat from older hens (over one year old), expanding the program’s impact. Since the establishment of the school, we have long been concerned about the poor quality of meals. Now, through this poultry project, the supply of eggs has become a miraculous blessing from God, offering the children new and nutritious food they had never experienced before.  We are deeply grateful to GCF for their generous support and to God who made all this possible.
