Kenya_Kyubo Cho 2025
AfricaFrom early in the morning, the children have been full of excitement. Today is Kenya’s Independence Day, so there is no school, and the kids are overjoyed. They are especially happy because the daughter-in-law of one of our former Joy Homes children—who grew up here, got married, and now lives next door—came to cook a delicious meal for everyone. Joy Homes, which began in 1998, is now 26 years old. Some of our children have grown up and started independent lives, while 40 children still live here—ranging from Samuel, who attends kindergarten, to Gatimo, who is in his second year of medical school. Running the orphanage used to be extremely difficult, but through the generous support of GCF, things have become much more stable and hopeful. It has truly been a great source of strength for us. We are also now able to provide regular meals for hungry children from the surrounding village, ensuring that no child suffers from hunger. Whenever we see a child in need, we invite them in for a warm meal. We send our heartfelt thanks and love to all the GCF mothers who serve with such compassion and generosity. May God’s abundant grace and blessings be with you always.
