Joy Homes Orphanage and Joy Vision Academy are located in Kamuchira village in the Naivasha region, about a two-hour drive from Nairobi, Kenya. This mountain village faces extreme hardship, where even one meal a day is a challenge for many residents. The community has been deeply affected by COVID-19, conflict, and a two-year drought, leaving many to suffer from hunger. Among those most severely impacted are the children.  In Kamuchira, neglected children often end up as street children, and babies abandoned by single mothers are sent to temporary care centers. Joy Homes steps in to care for these children, providing them with a safe environment where they can grow and thrive. Thanks to the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF), children attending the school now receive daily lunches, freeing them from the grip of hunger. This has allowed them to grow up healthy and happy, filling their days with smiles and laughter.
