Southeast AsiaIn the Quang Nam region of central Vietnam, many children with disabilities come from economically disadvantaged families. They have had to endure daily challenges such as intellectual or speech delays and physical impairments without proper care or support. However, with the operation of community-based daycare centers, these children now receive speech therapy, special education, physical therapy, and daily living skills training. To date, hundreds of children have benefited from these daycare centers and have shown remarkable progress. One child who first came to the Tam My Dong Daycare Center could only communicate through crying, but now can speak in short sentences, dress, brush their teeth, and play happily with friends. Another child, who had very weak muscle development on the left side of the body due to cerebral palsy, is now able to walk independently and perform basic daily tasks after receiving therapy and training at the Binh Lam Daycare Center. All of this would not have been possible without the support of the Global Children Foundation (GCF). When caregivers are unable to provide meals, GCF funds snacks for the children. These snacks help ensure that the children do not receive therapy on an empty stomach, allowing them to stay focused, motivated to participate regularly, and grow up healthy. At every step of this journey, the warm support of GCF has been there.
