Global Children Foundation held its 26th General Assembly from September 30 to October 2, 2024, at the Eurasia hotel in Urayasu, Chiba, Japan.
Over 210 members from 16 branches attended the assembly, where they shared the financial report for 2023, budget and financial plans for 2025, as well as updates on the sponsorship status and activities of each branch.
President, Angeline Cho, stated “in 2023, the foundation provided $627,000 to support hungry children and underprivileged youth around the world, and added $600,000 by last August 2024” She also mentioned “the support will be more than $700,000 in 2025”. During the assembly, awards were presented to regional and branch presidents who completed their terms in recognition of their hard work, and appreciation plaques were given to sponsors who have been generous with their donation and support.
At the evening banquet, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon delivered a congratulatory message via video, followed by speeches from local dignitaries and various performances that provided delightful entertainment for attendees. Additionally, Chairperson, Seuhee Lee expressed gratitude to former Chairperson Suk-Young Sung by presenting her with a plaque and bouquet.
The 27th general assembly is scheduled to take place in Washington DC in September 2025.
