2018년 10월 12일부터 10월 16일 까지 61명의 글로벌 어린이 재단 회원들이 서울 불우 아동 돕기 행사에 참석했습니다. 이배용 전 이대 총장님의 강의와 김정택 SBS 단장님의 음악과 함께한 강의는 끊이지 않는 웃음과 함께 회원들의 피로를 단번에 풀어주었고 박찬봉 연대 교수님의 한국 복지제도에 대한 강의와 정경애 이사장님의 회원들을 위한 워크숍은 새로 가입한 회원뿐 아니라 모든 글로벌 어린이 재단회원들의 좋은 지침서가 되었습니다 월요일 두팀으로 나누어서 한팀은 동대문 나누리 지역 아동 센터에 가서 아이들과 함께 김밥을 만들며 사랑으로 안아주었고 또 다른 한팀은 일산에 있는 새꿈터 ( 탈북 가정의 아이들) 에서 김밥을 만들며 어이들에게 용기를 주었습니다. 마지막 화요일은 매년 했듯이 일일 관광으로 아산 소나무숲을 산책하며 또 온양온천에 가서 옛 추억을 떠올리며 온천수에 피곤한 몸과 마음을 쉴수 있어서 참으로 좋았습니다. 각 지부회장님들은 헌신적인 리더십과 봉사로 지부 회원들과 함께 함으로 서로 화목하고 단결된 모습에서 밝은 글로벌 어린이 재단의장래가 기대되었습니다.

Global Children Foundation helped at-risk children in Seoul, Korea, in 2018.

To expand the spectrum of the disadvantaged children’s welfare, sixty-one Global Children Foundation members attended an annual event in Seoul, Korea from October 12 to 16, 2018. Bae-Young Lee, former president of Ewha Woman’s University, gave a lecture while a conductor led the musical performance. Jung-Taek Kim provided non-stop, jovial laughter and brought everyone at ease. Chan-Bong Park, a professor of Yeon Sei University, provided another lecture regarding Korean welfare systems and Kyung-Ae Lee, the executive chairperson, led a workshop that suggested universal guidelines for not only current members but also the new. Afterward, GCF members were divided into two teams with one serving children by making tasty kimbap at Na Nu Ri Children Center in the Don Dae Moon region and the other encouraging children to also make delicious, traditional kimbap at the New Dream Site (for escaped North Korean children). On the last day of the event, both teams went to tour the lush On-Yan Spring, where they took a hike through the evergreen forest and enjoyed the relaxing hot spring. These events brought upon an anticipation for a brighter future filled with united efforts from the leadership council’s devotion and the GCF members’ dedicated services.
