The 20th Annual Global Children Foundation convention, with Seo-Hee Lee as the president, was held on July 7, 2018, in the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in New Jersey. During the convention, the GCF executive board of directors appraised the summative financial report from 2017. In addition, the 2019 budgetary plan, preliminary initiative projects, and board of directors’ pre-approved donations on behalf of disadvantaged children in foreign countries were passed with approval. Furthermore, Mrs. Gui-Oak Yum from Indiana was endorsed as the new president for 2019 to 2020.
The GCF provides food to eligible, sponsored organizations for refugee children all around the world, including places such as the Dominican Republic, Ethiopia, Peru, Lebanon, Zambia, Bolivia, Guatemala, Cambodia, Tanzania, Central Africa, Mexico, Burkina Paso, India, Thailand, and Korea, amongst others. The budget set aside to provide food for young children, help low-income children and assist children with disabilities is $241,000.
About 500 members and guests attended the fundraising dinner where Jayson Park provided the keynote speech. The 21st Annual General Assembly in 2019 was decided to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Global Children Foundation was established in Washington, D.C., in 1998 and has since grown to become a true-to-life international charity with more than 5,800 members in 21 branches, including 18 branches in Canada and the U.S. and 3 branches in Hong Kong, Japan, and Korea.
